Types of Insulation

Choosing the right insulation for your property can be a daunting task, given the wide variety of options available in the market.

We are here to help!

Here’s an overview of some of the most popular insulation types:

Polyurethane Foam (Spray Foam)

Polyurethane foam or spray foam insulation is a fantastic insulator with tremendous R-value. Acting as both an air barrier and moisture barrier, there is no better product on the market that will keep your home comfortable year round.

Spray foam in impermeable to water as well, making it odorless and mold resistant if ever encountered by excess water.

Mineral Wool

Made from natural or recycled materials, mineral wool comes as both loose-fill material and batts.

Most mineral wool is not fire resistant, making it less suited for areas with strong sources of heat. It is often used to supplement other forms of insulation, and can be very effective when used in large areas of Colorado homes.

Fiberglass

Fiberglass insulation happens to be the most common form of insulation used in homes.

A tried-and-true choice for walls, attics, and floors, fiberglass insulation is non-flammable and has tremendous R-values.

If you are seeking a relatively inexpensive form of insulation, fiberglass is the way to go.

Cellulose

Made from mostly recycled materials, cellulose is one of the most eco-friendly insulations on the market.

It’s treated for fire resistance and is excellent for filling hard-to-reach spaces, making it a great option for home retrofits and an excellent supplementary insulation to fiberglass, spray foam, and mineral wool.
